Sherrod Brown tried to force Ohio's 35 Catholic hospitals to perform transgender procedures that violate their religious beliefs, overriding federal religious-freedom protections. He also voted against requiring parental consent before a minor is taken across state lines for an abortion. Time and again, Brown has sided with Washington over Ohio parents, families, and faith communities.
Biden's $1.9 trillion spending bill
Sherrod Brown voted for Joe Biden's $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan, helping unleash a massive increase in federal spending as Ohio families faced rising prices for groceries, gas, housing, and other everyday necessities.
Social Security for illegal immigrants
Sherrod Brown voted against efforts to prevent illegal immigrants from receiving Social Security benefits, putting benefits for people in the country illegally ahead of protecting the program for American workers and seniors.
Sanctuary cities
Sherrod Brown voted 10 times to allow federal taxpayer dollars to continue flowing to sanctuary jurisdictions that refuse to cooperate with federal immigration authorities. Those policies can result in criminal offenders being released back into communities rather than transferred to immigration authorities. Instead of putting public safety first, Brown repeatedly sided with sanctuary-city policies.
